Fatal crash in St. Tammany Parish leaves one dead, two injured.

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. — A three-vehicle crash on LA Hwy. 36 at LA Hwy. 3241 claimed the life of one driver and left two others injured Saturday morning.

According to Louisiana State Police, the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. Jennifer L. Ayo, 39, of Covington, was driving a Chevrolet southbound on LA Hwy. 3241 when she entered the intersection and collided with a westbound 2010 Honda Fit. After the initial impact, Ayo’s vehicle moved into the eastbound lane of LA Hwy. 36, where it was struck by a 2009 Ford F-150 traveling eastbound.

Ayo was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. The Ford driver, also wearing a seatbelt, suffered moderate injuries and was hospitalized.

Authorities are continuing the investigation into the crash.
