INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two suspects linked to a fatal shooting were located at the scene of a separate car crash Saturday morning, according to police.
At 1:52 a.m. on Saturday, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to reports of a shooting in the 3300 block of Graceland Avenue, near Crown Hill Cemetery. Officers found a male, age undetermined, shot multiple times in the backyard. He was transported to Methodist Hospital, where he died 30 minutes later.
Another male arrived at Eskenazi Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds and is currently in stable condition. Authorities believe he was also involved in the Graceland Avenue incident, as the vehicle that brought him was connected to the shooting scene.
Witnesses reported seeing two individuals fleeing the area after gunfire erupted. While investigating the shooting, officers responded to a vehicle crash on West 21st Street and identified the suspects from that incident as possibly connected to the earlier shooting.
IMPD has obtained search warrants for both locations and is determining whether the second male is a victim or a suspect. “It’s a lot to unwind,” said IMPD Capt. John Arvin.
