Nashville Police, State Troopers Engage in Slow-Speed Chase
NASHVILLE, TN — A woman led law enforcement on a slow-speed chase in a reportedly stolen vehicle for several hours on July 1, 2025.
On July 2, authorities responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Brick Church Pike, where a collision occurred involving a Ram pickup truck and a Honda Civic driven by 20-year-old Robert Crawford III of Old Hickory.
According to the Nashville Police Department, 18-year-old Joshua McNeal of Cleveland, Mississippi, was driving the Ram 1500 with two passengers when he attempted to overtake several vehicles in a center lane, exceeding the speed limit. Authorities reported that McNeal swerved to avoid another vehicle, lost control, and struck Crawford’s Honda head-on.
A northbound Toyota Camry was also affected by the resulting chaos of the crash, police said. No drivers appeared impaired, and Crawford was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
McNeal, who sustained injuries, was charged with vehicular homicide by reckless conduct, reckless endangerment, and three counts of aggravated assault. He was treated at a local hospital before being booked into the Downtown Detention Center, held on a $90,000 bond.
Crawford, known as “Tre,” was a cherished employee at The Pharmacy, an East Nashville burger restaurant. The establishment closed on July 3 to allow staff time to mourn. “Tre kept the place full of laughs and smiles,” a statement from the restaurant expressed, noting their sympathy for his family.
