Two Teenagers Killed in Oshtemo Township Crash Early Sunday Morning
OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two teenagers died in a single-vehicle crash on Stadium Drive near S. 9th Street around 3:20 a.m. Sunday, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that the vehicle lost control, struck a traffic light pole, and subsequently caught fire. The 19-year-old driver from Paw Paw and a 17-year-old passenger from Kalamazoo were pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s office indicated that speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the incident, and an investigation is ongoing. There were no other vehicles involved.
Emergency responders arrived promptly, but the victims could not be revived. The crash is still under investigation, with details regarding possible lane closures or vehicle tows not yet disclosed.
