Shooting Leads to Crash Involving Police Cruiser in Danbury
DANBURY, Conn. — A man was hospitalized and a suspect arrested following a shooting that resulted in a crash with a police cruiser on Friday night.
According to the Danbury Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting on Lake Avenue at approximately 6:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and his injuries are currently undisclosed.
Authorities quickly gathered information about the suspect and identified their vehicle in the vicinity. Following a brief pursuit, the suspect’s car collided with a police cruiser on Interstate 84 West, near the New York border.
The officer involved in the crash sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover. The incident remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
