Fatal crash claims three lives; undocumented driver extradited to Florida.

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Harjinder Singh, 28, accused of causing a fatal crash on the Florida Turnpike, has been extradited back to Florida to face charges.

Singh reportedly made an illegal U-turn near Fort Pierce on August 12, leading to a collision that resulted in the deaths of three individuals from South Florida. He faces three counts of vehicular homicide and is currently being held on an ICE detainer. If convicted, he could face up to 45 years in prison.

Singh allegedly entered the U.S. illegally in 2018. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis described the incident as a “total disaster” and expressed a commitment to pursuing the maximum penalties against Singh.

In an unusual move, Florida Lt. Governor Jay Collins personally escorted Singh back to Florida on a state jet, rather than using U.S. Marshals for the transfer. Singh arrived at the Pensacola International Airport around 5 p.m. before being transported to Tallahassee.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash, and details regarding emergency response and lane closures are forthcoming.
