SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH IN NEWARK INJURES TWO

Newark, DE – A single-vehicle crash on I-95 north near Exit 1 occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m. on August 21, injuring two individuals.

According to the Delaware State Police, the vehicle, a 2020 Ford Explorer, was traveling northbound when it lost control and struck the guardrail. Emergency responders from the Newark Fire Department arrived on the scene to provide medical assistance and transport the injured to Christiana Hospital.

Authorities reported that the driver, a 34-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries, while a 12-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries. Both individuals were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The right lane of I-95 north was closed for approximately two hours while emergency personnel attended to the scene and conducted an investigation. Traffic was temporarily diverted to maintain safety.

Authorities stated that the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. No additional information about the condition of the injured or the exact cause of the lost control was immediately available.
