Motorcyclist Killed in I-65 Crash Near Briley Parkway Exit
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A motorcyclist was killed late Aug. 1 on Interstate 65 North near the Briley Parkway exit, according to Nashville police.
Daryus Chambers, 37, of Antioch, was riding with another motorcyclist around 10:45 p.m. when he reportedly struck a tractor-trailer. Authorities believe Chambers lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on the interstate.
The second motorcycle, operated by an 18-year-old, also crashed and subsequently ran over Chambers, as indicated by the initial investigation. Chambers died at the scene. The second motorcyclist sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.
The tractor-trailer continued traveling on I-65, and police stated it is likely the driver was unaware of the collision.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further details about lane closures or emergency response were provided.
