Injuries Reported After Multi-Vehicle Crash Following Police Pursuit

KANSAS CITY, MO — A Kansas City police officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday following a vehicle pursuit that resulted in two collisions.

The incidents occurred around 2:41 p.m. near the intersection of 39th Street and Troost Avenue. Authorities said the pursuit began when officers attempted to stop a suspect vehicle. The vehicle collided with a patrol car during the chase.

The officer involved was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. No other injuries were reported. Kansas City Fire Department and emergency medical services responded to the scene alongside police units.

Both vehicles involved, one being a police cruiser, were towed from the intersection. The left lane of Troost Avenue was closed for approximately one hour while investigators assessed the scene.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and that additional details will be released as they become available.
