Motorcyclist dies in crash with SUV on Gallatin Pike

Motorcyclist Killed in Collision on Gallatin Pike Identified

NASHVILLE, TN — A motorcyclist who died in a collision with an SUV on Gallatin Pike on August 2 has been identified as 44-year-old Joshua Parsons from Nashville.

According to the investigation, Parsons was riding his Kawasaki Ninja north on Gallatin Pike toward Hendersonville when he collided with a Honda Pilot. The SUV’s driver was reportedly making a left turn onto Gallatin Pike from the Target entrance at the time of the accident.

Parsons was pronounced dead at the scene. Friends informed detectives that they had attempted to take Parsons’ keys before the collision due to concerns about his impairment after leaving a nearby restaurant, but they were unsuccessful.

Authorities reported no signs of impairment for the driver of the Honda Pilot. The investigation is ongoing, with officials examining potential contributing factors, including whether Parsons impeded the driver’s visibility and whether the driver failed to yield the right of way.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, and the roadway was temporarily closed for the investigation. Further details will be released as the inquiry continues.
