One Dead in Motorcycle Crash on I-25 in Denver
DENVER — A fatal crash involving a motorcyclist and two vehicles occurred near southbound Interstate 25 and 6th Ave. Tuesday night, according to the Denver Police Department (DPD).
Authorities confirmed one individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were transported to a local hospital for medical care. The identity of the deceased has not been released, and DPD emphasized that the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
Southbound I-25 was closed at 8th Ave. for cleanup and investigation but has since reopened. This incident marks one of two motorcycle-related crashes reported in Denver on the same night.
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) noted that motorcycle fatalities have increased by 57% over the past decade, with a record 165 deaths in 2024. However, preliminary data for 2025 indicates a 20% decrease in motorcycle fatalities compared to last year as of April.
DPD encourages the public to seek alternative routes while investigations continue.
