LINN COUNTY, Ore. — A single-vehicle crash occurred Sunday morning, August 17, on Highway 20 near milepost 4, resulting in one fatality.
According to authorities, Ryker Thomas Pittam, 19, of Albany, was driving a westbound Toyota 4Runner when he swerved to avoid a vehicle making a left turn into a driveway. The Toyota lost control, rolled over, and ejected Pittam.
Pittam was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The highway was closed for approximately two hours during the investigation.
The Oregon State Police (OSP) were assisted by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).
