Motorcycle Crash in Denver Kills One
DENVER — A crash between a motorcyclist and a driver at E. 13th Ave. and N. Race St. resulted in one fatality Tuesday night, according to the Denver Police Department.
The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident was not a hit and run; however, DPD is still determining the crash's cause.
Authorities advised of significant delays in the area, encouraging motorists to use alternate routes. In a related incident, approximately an hour and a half later, another motorcycle crash occurred in Denver.
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) reported a 57% increase in motorcycle deaths over the past decade, with 165 fatalities recorded in 2024—the highest annual total for the state. Despite this, CDOT indicated that motorcycle deaths had decreased by 20% as of April 2025 compared to the same timeframe in 2024.
