Motorcyclist Dies in Crash with SUV in Columbia County
TOWN OF LODI, Wis. (WKOW) — A motorcyclist died Sunday night following a collision with an SUV on Lindsay Road, just north of Highway 60.
The crash, reported around 9 p.m., involved a motorcycle traveling south at high speed that failed to navigate a curve, crossed the center line, struck a guardrail, and collided with the northbound SUV. According to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, the motorcyclist was located down an embankment with serious injuries.
Authorities reported that the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by UW Med Flight doctors. The occupants of the SUV were unharmed.
Alcohol is believed to have played a role in the incident, authorities said. The identity of the deceased motorcyclist is being withheld pending family notification.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
