8-Year-Old Girl Dies in Tragic Boise Pedestrian Accident

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — A man with an outstanding federal warrant was arrested after a crash that killed an 8-year-old girl, authorities confirmed.

The driver, identified as Elvin Ramos-Caballero, was involved in the incident on November 11, shortly before 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Ada St. and Harrison Blvd. According to officials, Mora Gerety died from multiple blunt force injuries, classified as an accidental death by the Ada County Coroner.

Preliminary investigations indicated that a pickup truck driven by Ramos-Caballero had stopped at a stop sign on Harrison Blvd. The child, also traveling west on Ada Street, was on the northeast corner of the intersection. The collision occurred when both the driver and the entered the intersection, with the driver attempting a turn to head north on Harrison.

Paramedics transported Mora to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A memorial has formed at the crash site as the community mourns her loss.

Boise Mayor Lauren McLean expressed her commitment to ensuring children's safety in neighborhoods, stating, “Every child should be able to play and explore their neighborhood safely.”

Rep. Russ Fulcher echoed this sentiment, offering condolences and urging prayers for the grieving family.

The crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
