BOONE COUNTY, Ind. — The Indiana National Guard has confirmed the death of Spc. Terry Frye in a crash involving four soldiers on I-65 in Boone County, Indiana, on Friday.
Frye, 23, from Lafayette, Indiana, was part of Company D, 2nd Battalion, 151st Infantry Regiment. He began his service in March 2020 as an infantryman based in Frankfort, Indiana. During his time in the National Guard, he earned the National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
The soldiers were on their way from the Frankfort Armory to Camp Atterbury for a drill weekend training when the collision occurred. The crash remains under investigation, and the conditions of the other three soldiers involved have not been disclosed.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident. Further details about the crash response and any lane closures have not yet been released.
