Fatal crash on I-90 ejected Missoula woman, investigation ongoing.

MISSOULA, Mont. — A 25-year-old woman was killed Saturday in a crash on I-90 near milepost 40, according to Idaho State Police.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:55 p.m. when a Black Mazda CX-5, driven by a 25-year-old man from Lolo, Montana, failed to navigate a left-hand curve. The vehicle left the roadway, traveled along the right shoulder, and subsequently overturned.

Emergency responders from the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho State Police arrived at the scene. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital by ground ambulance, while the woman was airlifted but later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators indicated that neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt. At the time of the incident, traffic was reduced to one lane due to construction. The lane was closed for around one hour to facilitate emergency response before reopening as the investigation continued.

The Idaho State Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
