FITCHBURG, Wis. (WKOW) — One person died and another was injured in a crash on U.S. Highway 14 Thursday morning.
The incident occurred around 8:50 a.m., just north of Lacy Road, prompting authorities to close the highway for investigation. Firefighters discovered two vehicles with significant damage in the eastbound lanes upon arrival.
One individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second person sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital. No injuries to bystanders or first responders were reported.
The Fitchburg Police Department is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash, and further details will be released as information becomes available.
