Second Fatality in Tippecanoe County Crash
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — A second person has died following a single-vehicle crash early Monday on U.S. 231 North in northwestern Tippecanoe County.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:05 a.m. in the 5600 block of U.S. 231, near Montmorenci, when a northbound passenger car left the roadway and struck a concrete post, igniting a fire.
Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello confirmed that one of the deceased is Iasiin Seidibaliev, 21, who succumbed to injuries at Sydney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. The Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office reported that a second individual has also died from injuries sustained in the crash; however, details regarding this person have not been disclosed.
Efforts are underway to identify a third occupant of the vehicle who remains hospitalized with serious injuries. The sheriff’s office has not released further information concerning the cause of the crash or specifics about the vehicle involved.
