Deadly Crash in Kroger Parking Lot Leads to Charges

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A 34-year-old woman has been charged following a fatal incident that stemmed from a minor traffic accident in a Kroger parking lot on Wednesday.

Danielle Henry faces charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, involuntary manslaughter, hit skip (private property), and failure to stop, according to court documents. She was arrested Saturday and is currently held at the James Carnes Corrections Center in Franklin County.

The incident began when Henry and Ibrahim Diakite were involved in a crash in the Kroger parking lot on Schrock Road in Westerville. Authorities reported that Henry allegedly drove away from the scene of the collision. Diakite pursued her onto Schrock Road, where he stopped his vehicle in front of hers and stood in the roadway.

Witnesses stated that Diakite climbed onto the hood of Henry’s car in an attempt to stop her. Authorities reported that Henry then accelerated to 45 mph, dragging Diakite for approximately 300 to 600 feet before he fell off and was run over.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Henry is scheduled for arraignment on Monday.
