Two Dead in Prospect Crash Involving Three Vehicles

PROSPECT, CT — Two people died in a three-vehicle crash on Route 69 at Talmadge Hill Road just before 5:30 a.m., state police dispatchers reported.

Authorities said the collision caused a utility pole to snap. Four to five individuals were involved in the incident, with two confirmed fatalities. However, the public information officer for state police has only stated that those involved sustained serious injuries.

Route 69 remains closed from Coer Road to the Bethany town line for several hours as emergency crews respond. Region 16 Schools advised staff and parents to utilize the intersection of Routes 68 and 69 to access Long River/PES. Staff members were advised to inform emergency personnel of their status for access.

Parents are encouraged to drive carefully, as no tardiness will be recorded for students on Thursday. The superintendent also reported delays in the district.
