Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Hamilton County
A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle in western Hamilton County on Oct. 14, according to the sheriff's office.
At approximately 8:15 p.m., deputies and fire crews responded to U.S. 50 near Ohio 128 and a Kroger store, located at the border of Cleves and Whitewater Township. The incident occurred on New Hooven Bridge, where the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities blocked U.S. 50 in both directions between Ohio 128 and Cooper Road for several hours while the sheriff's Traffic Unit conducted an investigation and reconstructed the scene. The roadways were reopened around 3:30 a.m.
Investigators have interviewed the driver of the vehicle involved; however, no charges have been filed at this time. The identity and age of the pedestrian have not yet been released.
