6-Year-Old Dies, 15-Year-Old Critically Injured in Seaford Crash

Seaford Crash Leaves One Dead, One Critically Injured

A 6-year-old boy is dead, and a 15-year-old girl is critically injured following a two-car crash in Seaford on July 27, authorities said.

At around 4:30 p.m., a 45-year-old man from Georgetown was driving a Toyota Tundra east on Hastings Farm Road. Simultaneously, a 44-year-old woman from Bridgeville was driving a Toyota Corolla south on Coverdale Road, according to Delaware State Police.

Hastings Farm Road does not have stop signs at the intersection, while Coverdale Road does. Preliminary investigations indicate the Corolla failed to stop at the stop sign, entering the path of the Tundra, leading to a collision.

The teenage passenger in the Corolla was transported to a hospital with critical injuries. The backseat passenger, identified as 6-year-old Keydan Garcia-Garcia of Bridgeville, succumbed to his injuries on August 1. The Corolla's driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also hospitalized. The Tundra's driver refused medical transport.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident. Witnesses or anyone with relevant information are encouraged to contact Sr. Cpl. J. Smith at 302-703-3267 or reach out via Facebook to Delaware State Police. Information may also be submitted to Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
