Four Injured in Lee County Accident on Sanibel Causeway
Lee County, Florida (March 29, 2022) – Multiple parties were hospitalized following a crash involving multiple vehicles in Lee County on Saturday, according to Lee County Sheriff's Office.
The incident took place on the Sanibel Causeway on Saturday, March 26.
Three vehicles collided on the causeway under unclear circumstances.
Firefighters with the Sanibel Fire Rescue responded to the scene and helped those involved in the collision.
The driver of a minivan involved in the accident was pulled out of the wreckage using extrication tools.
Witnesses to the accident helped the firefighters at the scene.
Four people were taken to trauma centers for injuries of unspecified severity.
Lanes were closed as crews worked at the scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
