23-year-old killed in single-vehicle crash in Clarksville.

CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A 23-year-old man from New Albany was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday evening in Clarksville.

At approximately 8:22 p.m., officers from the Clarksville Police Department and emergency personnel responded to reports of a car striking a concrete culvert on Brown Station Way, near Lewis and Clark Parkway. Medical responders pronounced Daniel Lee Wade Burns dead at the scene.

Burns was the only occupant of the vehicle, a gray 2007 Pontiac G7, which was traveling westbound in the right lane. According to authorities, the vehicle drifted over the fog line, struck a raised curb, continued along the curb, and veered off the roadway into a ditch, colliding head-on with the culvert.

The Clarksville Police Department is conducting an investigation and has requested a crash reconstruction officer from the Indiana State Police. Brown Station Way was closed until 11 p.m. Tuesday for the investigation. Burns’ family has been notified.
