1 Killed Sunbury Car Crash on Interstate 71 near State Route 37

Delaware County, OH. – One person was killed in a car crash that left several others injured near Sunbury in Delaware County on Sunday evening.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Interstate 71 near the State Route 37 exit at around 5 p.m.

A 35-year-old man was driving a black Hyundai Tucson when he lost control, veered across the median and collided head-on with an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado.

A Toyota Tacoma traveling southbound was hit by debris.

The driver of the Hyundai Tucson was killed in the accident.

Two passengers of the Hyundai, a 38-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl, were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet and a passenger were also hospitalized with major injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Tacoma were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
